Arrived in Bangkok

It was a long travel day and a half, but we're all in Bangkok eager to start the program.   It's 3:30 a.m. here, but I know the parents want some kind of notice that the students are all here safely.

Everyone waiting in the Tokyo airport for the connecting flight to Bangkok.

The students and Mor Mark (2nd from left) with their bags in the Bangkok Airport.  Mor Mark is Mark Loeb, an M.D. who helped me lead the program in 2001.  He is joining us as a third adult to help Ajarn Wayne and me (Ajarn Bob) lead the program. "Mor" is the Thai title for a medical doctor, and "Ajarn" is a title roughly equivalent with professor.  Thai last names frequently are very long, so they all use first names with a title to make them polite and respectful.

At 1:45 a.m., we got to the hotel and although most of the kids had enough sense to get some sleep, a few of us had to go out for some genuine Thai food.  On the left side of the table are Landon, Raechel, Natalie, and Dom enjoying grapow, fried rice, and garlic beef.   Mmmmm.
